After qualifying as a doctor in 1995, Diane trained in general medicine before switching to public health medicine. She has held posts at the Kings Fund, and in West Kent, Buckinghamshire, Oxford and Milton Keynes. After two years as Director of Strategy and Planning at NHS Milton Keynes Primary Care Trust, Diane was awarded a 2010-11 Commonwealth Fund Harkness Fellowship based at Weill Cornell Medical School in New York, during which she studied primary care physicians’ perceptions of value and outcomes in three US healthcare systems.

Diane’s interests are in the promotion of patient and clinical outcomes as a unifying concept that can encourage collaboration between providers and increase value in healthcare.
